Finished Honey Cowl

Last night I finished my honey cowl.

I love the way it turned out and I really want to wear it.  It seems doubtful that this year will be cold enough again to wear it but I’ll try to make it work.

I loved this yarn so much.  It was a gift from my friend Ali and it was so soft and the color was amazing. I was a little worried it wouldn’t work for this pattern but as I knit, I realized that the colors looked great with all the slipped stitches and it almost looks striped.

I really recommend this pattern.  It’s easy and the results are great.  There is a seam where the yarn is joined but it doesn’t really bother me much.

  1. This cowl really turned out nice! It is a nice stitch pattern and I bet it goes fast! I can’t figure out though why you have that seam lining up the work? If you join and knit in the round why is the line going all the way up? That happens to me on socks when I pull too tight from one DPK to the next around. Is that from pulling a bit too tight at that point or is there perhaps another reason it shows a seam line?

    • I think it’s because you are switching from a knit row to a purl row to make the pattern. I don’t know if I could have done something (maybe working into a stitch below) to avoid it.

      • Ahhh OK Lauren…. That explains it. Yarn is brought to front to start a Purl row. I am not sure how to eleviate that either but it ls a seam line and looks totally fine. I just couldn’t figure with a knitting around how a seam line could appear! I have some green in a stash and am gonna maybe knit this one up. Very pretty!
